Ninjas in Pyjamas have passed a tough Virtus.pro test in the upper bracket final of TECHLABS Cup 2013, securing a 16-12 victory by taking the last four rounds after an extremely close battle.

Swedish giants who are still undefeated on LAN started the upper bracket final with an 8-2 lead as counter-terrorists, but Virtus.pro's late surge brought the half into a more interesting finish.

An incredible situation took place at 8-5 with Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg finding himself in a 1-on-2 situation, when Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov accidentaly changed teams and died, giving Lindberg a free defuse after one kill.

Despite that, the CSI-based squad won the last round of the first half, and after the sides switched they quickly evened the score to 9-9.

The rounds started going back and forth, with Virtus.pro taking a lead for the first time at 11-10 and then NiP drawing back at 12-11. Virtus.pro's flawless defense in round 24 made the score even at 12-12, leading the match into a close finish.

As it came down to clutch time, NiP stepped up and got the needed entry kills, especially Adam "friberg" Friberg who took control of the B bombsite every time. Eventually the Swedes took the needed rounds, with the last one coming to a last millisecond C4 explosion in the face of Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow who had almost clutched a 1-on-2 situation.

The Ninjas remain undefeated despite a strong test, and are now the first finalists of TECHLABS Cup 2013, while Virtus.pro will await their opponent in the consolidation final.

Next up is the lower bracket final between Natus Vincere and ESC Gaming, set to start as soon both teams plug their equipment in.
